Escalating active Coronavirus-COVID19 cases around the country continues to provide a very fluid situation regarding people who can visit Canberra. Areas subject to travel restrictions into the ACT included Greater Sydney and surrounding Local Government Areas (LGAs), the Hunter and Upper Hunter areas of New South Wales and areas in South-East Queensland.
All of Greater Sydney remains in lockdown as well as surrounding LGAs of the Blue Mountains, the Central Coast, Wollongong and Shellharbour. The Hunter and Upper Hunter have also been included as lockdown areas in NSW from 5th August and which includes the following LGAs:
- Lake Macquarie
- Port Stephens
A number of LGAs in South-East Queensland are subject to lockdown provisions which translate into travel restrictions into the ACT. The LGAs currently under lockdown in Queensland are:
- City of Brisbane
- Moreton Bay Region
- City of Gold Coast
- City of Ipswich
- Lockyer Valley Regional Council
- Logan City
- Noosa Shire Council
- Redland City
- Scenic Rim Regional Council
- Somerset Regional Council
- Sunshine Coast Regional Council
The ACT Government COVID website details information on areas of concern in NSW, Queensland, Northern Territory, Victoria and New Zealand, including Close Contact Exposure locations and Casual Contact Exposure locations. Particular rules also apply for those who have been in these exposure locations.
