Cockington Green Gardens is open every day over the Easter long-weekend from 9.30am until 4.15pm for last entries. The attraction is only closed two days each year, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
With perfect weather forecast over the Easter long-weekend, many online bookings already having been made, and strong levels of inquiry, we are providing this update to help people wishing to visit us over the Easter weekend and through the school holidays.
Whilst being an outdoor attraction with reasonable capacity, the ongoing presence of Coronavirus-COVID19 places a number of constraints on the operation which we must comply with. The following is a set of guidelines for visitors and prospective visitors to be mindful of in visiting Cockington Green Gardens particularly over the busy Easter long weekend
Visitor Capacity and Booking Requirements:
Because of limitations set on numbers visiting the attraction, bookings are required in peak periods such as Easter and through school holidays. Bookings can be made by clicking on the green ‘Ticket Bookings’ tab at the top of the screen. Bookings can be made for each half hour commencing from 9.30am and visitors have one and a half hours to visit the attraction. Many half hour sessions are already booked out over the Easter weekend.
We do occasionally have some walk up tickets available if a session is not filled although preference is always given to booked visitors. If you are having any difficulties in booking online, give us a call on 02 6230 2273 for assistance.
Miniature Steam-Train Rides:
Due to social distancing requirements, train ride numbers are limited and can only taken with a pre-booking. It is recommended that you book your train ride at the time of making a booking although because of number constraints, rides might not be available as will be advised at the time of booking.
Check-In CBR App:
The ACT Government has mandated that every venue in Canberra must have their guests book in with the Check-In CBR App. We encourage visitors to download the app prior to their visit and scan in the QR code on arrival. This will save a lot of time for everyone.
One person can include a number of people upon signing in on the Check-In CBR App. We will ask visitors to display their green tick on the app prior to entry. If your device is unable to download the app, we are able to assist you enter the attraction using our system although this will delay entry.
Unfortunately, you are unable to use COVID apps from other states and the Northern Territory. Each state and territory government requires that you use the app developed for their own jurisdiction.
COVID Outbreak – Queensland and Northern NSW:
We recently posted a story regarding the shutdown in Greater Brisbane and the impact on people visitor Cockington Green Gardens. (see story in What’s On section: ‘Queensland COVID Outbreak Update’)
Whilst the information was correct at the time of writing, there is constant change relating to outbreaks. The latest outbreaks in Northern NSW are also impacting on visitation although not currently to the extent of the lockdown which occurred in Greater Brisbane. It is hoped those restrictions will be lifted very soon.
Whilst we will post information as it becomes available to try and keep visitors up to date, you are encouraged to visit the ACT Government COVID website for any updates on travel to the ACT from each state and territory.
