Nearly four weeks after reopening, all the team at Cockington Green Gardens are delighted to be back.
It has been amazing to see so many people out enjoying the displays and gardens in some wonderful weather. The sounds of young children enjoying being out in the fresh air and sunshine, climbing around the playground cubby-houses, and delighting as they ride on the miniature steam-train are the sounds we have missed so much over the past few months.
Despite some ongoing restrictions, we do not currently require bookings to be made to visit the attraction. We will use our social media and other channels to advise immediately if this situation changes.
The unusually warmer late June and early July conditions have provided a lot of extra colour in the gardens this year which have been expanded to included our Floriade display. With this year’s Floriade Festival not taking place in Commonwealth Park, we are grateful to the ACT Government for providing additional annuals and bulbs for us to establish extra gardens as part of spreading Floriade around the city.
Throughout the shutdown period, Cockington Green Gardens has been working very closely with a number of other local businesses to build an exciting new branding and promotional campaign. The campaign is designed to bring lots of additional people to the City and surrounds to enjoy the delights of this region and help us all get through these challenging times. The campaign will also provide locals and others with lots of other fun opportunities to win prizes and receive giveaways. More details will follow soon.
For our wonderfully loyal 12 Month Passholders, we recently extended the validity of passes to take account of the recent shutdowns from both the fires and Coronavirus-COVID19. For casual local visitors, we would encourage you to consider converting your visit into a 12 Month Pass and take advantage of being able to visit anytime for a full year along with other Passholder benefits.
