Jo still bringing sunshine to Cockington Green

Cockington Green - May 22, 2019

It was a magnificent late Autumn morning when Cockington Green Gardens staff, family and friends came together to remember a magnificent person. May 21st marked the second anniversary of the very untimely and sad passing of staff member Jo Richardson.

Jo’s legacy and profound effect on all at Cockington Green Gardens is ever-present and it was lovely to come together to celebrate her wonderful life in what is a now a great tradition. This involved the planting out of spring annuals in the now well-established and popular cottage garden overlooking the display. This special garden, near the pond and café outdoor area, is designed to be a quirky and interesting potpourri of plantings. This nicely reflects the personality of Jo who made such a huge contribution to Cockington Green Gardens.
Jo’s husband & family were in attendance along with Jo’s closest friends, all were on hand to plant some annuals in memory of Jo. Director of Operations and Grounds, Mark Sarah was very pleased with the planting ceremony and chuckled that he could really get the grounds planted out quickly with that many people available all of the time.
It was a wonderful morning and Jo was still showering the display with lots of sunshine, reflective of her great outlook on life and the caring and kindness she brought to everyone at Cockington Green Gardens.
