Our major tree replacement project is now underway. The project involves the removal of all of our perimeter trees. Sadly, the trees have reached the end of their life and due to age, some disease and rapidly deteriorating appearance, they need to be removed.
This week, the first of the trees were removed between the main carparking area and the overflow carpark backing onto the café. The first batch of eight trees were successfully removed and notwithstanding some minor equipment issues, everything went as planned. Many of these trees were planted some 40-45 years ago and whilst it’s sad to see them go, the refurbishment will bring new life to the gardens, some of our lawn areas and provide additional display space.
We are mulching all of the trees for use back into our existing gardens and displays. The first exercise resulted in around 10 cubic metres of mulch being generated. We will begin placing new signage and coverings on our boundary fences shortly ahead of the major works around the main display commencing in the next couple of weeks. We will use the news section of our website to keep visitors up-to-date with this major project as it unfolds over the coming months.
