Cockington Green has long been a sanctuary for lots of friendly wildlife. Some of that wildlife was recently grateful for the presence of our gardeners who rescued a mother duck and her eight ducklings.
Some of the chicks somehow managed to get caught up in a couple of the sump drains leading into the international display. Fortunately, a chick was spotted by one of our observant train drivers. This then turned into a multiple rescue operation by our gardening team.
Happily, we can report that all eight ducklings and mum are now safe and blissfully gliding their way around our waterways once more.
